MID-WILSHIRE: The hammering continues along Wilshire Boulevard. Just a big hole in March 2008, 5550 Wilshire is rising up the block from 5600 Wilshire, that famous Asshat rental. Via a March 2009 Larchmont Chronicle story: "Construction is already underway for a six-story Art Deco Moderne-style building at 5550 Wilshire Blvd. The project features 163 condos above 15,000 square feet of retail space." The developer is Irvine-based Legacy Partners and the project is supposed to be finished in 2010. This project was featured in our Cheat Sheet to Wilshire development. [Curbed Staff]
DOWNTOWN: The June issue of the Downtown Neighborhood Council newsletter notes there's a meeting tonight for their 2009 Tree Planting Project.
