More bulldozing of neighborhoods by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD)? The above video displays the community-building, green efforts that LA's eco-village has put forth since it was created. The Eco-Village, a two-block sustainable village near Vermont and Beverly, is currently fighting to stop the LAUSD from building a 137-space parking lot in the middle of a neighborhood that has a mission to reduce auto-use. According to Streetsblog, LAUSD wants to put parking lot right next to the Bimini Shared Street Project (it sounds like this battle has been going on for some time). Members of the Eco-Village have instead proposed a community garden for the vacant lot.
