Rent Check: West Hollywood Guthrie & Buresh-Designed Cube

New, 21 comments

The WorkHouse, designed by local architects Guthrie & Buresh and completed in 1996 is now available for rent, or rather, the large cube-component is for rent in June, the smaller restored bungalow will be available in November. At the time of its completion, the architects described the project as "employ[ing] the changing perception of position, space, form and material as the primary elements in a flexural composition." They had us until they made up the neologism "flexural."

The listing notes the 2,000 square foot, two bedroom, two-and-a-half bath features translucent walls, expansive windows and doors, built ins like a wet bar, a motorized TV lift in the master bedroom, a gas/wood fireplace and heated floors. The kitchen features Caesar Stone counters, and Viking and Wolf appliances. There's also gated parking for five cars. The 650 square foot bungalow in separate and available in November. Monthly rent for the cube: $5,850.00 unfurnished. The house can also be rented furnished, but there's no price available for it furnished.
