boondoggle arts high school, scheduled to open this fall but immersed in controversy, has finally hired a principal. Central Los Angeles Area High School #9, designed by Coop Himmelb(l)au and funded by philanthropist Eli Broad has hired Suzanne Blake, principal at Vista Middle School in Van Nuys, to head up the school, according to LA Downtown News. Attempts to lure away two other principals from East Coast arts high schools failed. Now all she needs to do is hire staff, develop a new curriculum, and head off Broad's plans to make it a charter school. All in the next four months. Godspeed, Suzanne.
