Students for Foothill Extension

"The turnout was great and the rally went well despite the scorching heat (the mascot had it the worst)," writes one of the organizers behind this week's rally at Citrus College, an event that was intended to encourage Metro to get going on the Gold Line Foothill extension. There's the mascot. Looking a little woozy. Via the I Will Ride blog: "The student speakers were represented by the presidents of various student bodies and campus clubs from Citrus College and Mt. Sierra College, and they reminded the crowd (and Metro) of the financial strain that a lack of alternative transportation puts on the students who are already facing rising gas prices and tuition." Various elected officials were also on-hand, ready to tell Metro of all the dollars that could come to the San Gabriel Valley. [I Will Ride; photo courtesy of]
