What to do with Le Melange

New, 32 comments

The Park La Brea News goes out and interviews locals on their thoughts about the Le Melange building and the fact that the Wilshire and La Brea building is now in foreclosure. The reaction reads a bit like an Onion article. "Jennifer Sullivan, who lives one block away from Le Melange, said that though she thinks the location is a great place to live, the prices seemed high from the start. "It seemed priced high for what we now know was an inflated market," Sullivan said. But Sullivan has some interesting ideas for the property: She tells the paper that it could be turned into an artists-in-residence program for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Meanwhile, here's James O'Sullivan, president of the Miracle Mile Association on the project: "I can't imagine what you would have to give me to get me to buy a seven hundred and fifty thousand dollar condo at 900 square feet."
