Meet the Movable Wood: West Hollywood's Hancock Lofts

New, 71 comments

Hancock Lofts, developer CIM's 31-unit, Koning Eizenberg-designed project on Santa Monica Blvd is nearly finished and now open for touring. Biggest surprise from the weekend visit: Many of the wooden panels on the exterior actually move, acting as screens for the units' patios. Nfity. Other things to like: The angles of the building make for some interesting interior spaces, and there are some impressive views. On the downside, those upper kitchen shelves are hard to reach, and the bedroom units in the lofts (there are both lofts and townhomes) felt a tad small compared to the open space. But maybe it's more about entertaining and less about sleeping in Weho? The pool is still under-construction, and move-ins are schedule for June. Prices (this is the first release of units) range from $895,000 for a 1,037 square foot unit to $1.425 million for a 1,459 square foot unit. HOAs posted shortly. In the gallery: A 1,170 square foot unit that's priced at $1.024 million and a 1,532-square foot townhome unit that's priced at $1.35 million. UPDATE: Hoas are expected to range from $585-$620.
