New to Market: Architect Bart Prince in Malibu

New, 35 comments

The first thought after looking at a $10 million Malibu home: No pool? But it's architect Bart Prince, who is a big name to some. The Prince-designed Point Dume home caught our eye-it also caught the eye of the LA Times real estate editor Lauren Beale, because it ran on Sunday as their Home of the Week. It's like being inside a crazy trapezoid. Included on Prince's resume is former Playmate Barbi Benton's home in Aspen and this this home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. And here's Prince speaking in Architectural Digest: "He counts Frank Lloyd Wright and Gaudí as inspirations but notes that Bruce Goff, Einstein, Picasso and Debussy also exemplify “what it means to be a creative individual in any age. This is the essence of architecture: not ‘style’ or ‘fashion’ or ‘fad,’ but rather that creative spirit that exists within us and that ensures a future of exciting ideas and work.” It'll be interesting to see this angular and modern re-sells.
