The latest dish from Eater LA, Curbed's hedonistic eating and drinking blog...
WEST HOLLYWOOD: New York pizza import Joe's, after a year of success near the Third Street promenade in Santa Monica, is planning to open a second branch in West Hollywood. With Vito's and Mozza's new takeout counter not too far away, that makes the neighborhood the epicenter of good pizza in LA.
VENICE/MALIBU: Seriously, we've been missing the grilled corn from Cafe Habana ever since we left New York. Good news - the Cuban eatery is going to open a full-blown restaurant in Malibu, and the "slightly more freewheeling Habana Outpost concept" in Venice.
HOLLYWOOD: Eater checks in on the very delayed progress on Osaka, Kris Keith and Adolfo Suaya's "ode to Peru" on Hollywood Blvd in the vacated Chicken Delight space. The opening date has been pushed back to end of this year, and the design plans to divide the restaurant into several rooms, each with its own theme.
LOS ANGELES: Even more news from architecturally-themed ice cream truck Coolhaus: It is now officially rolling around the city. After a tour of Venice last weekend, look for it tonight at the Silverlake Wine tasting at Barnsdall Park.
