Baby Piano: Latest LACMA Construction Shots

New, 29 comments

There's the grand Piano at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and then there's the baby Piano, the lil' one being Italian architect Renzo Piano's new building. Formally known as Lynda and Stewart Resnick Exhibition Pavilion (the Resnicks are of Fiji bottled water and POM drink fame), the building will serve as an exhibition space for LACMA and is scheduled to open next year. Piano's building is only 200 feet by 180 feet, but is looking much bigger at the moment. Appearance-wise, it'll be similar to the existing the Piano-designed Broad Contemporary Art useum (travertine, glass and a jagged-like roof design). Also, this Piano attracts some funky-looking ladies (last shot; dancers, on their way to a performance this past weekend).
