A childhood friend of Lorcan O'Herlihy's, who commissioned him to build the addition to this 1942 Streamline Moderne home, has put it up for lease. The three-bedroom, three bath house, which has been featured in the New York Times, Metropolitan Home, and several American and European architectural books, was originally a single-story structure in the Hollywood Hills. The owners have updated the house, adding a second-story master bedroom suite, an infinity pool and an outdoor cabana, all of which were designed by Lorcan before he shifted his focus to multi-family developments. The master bedroom addition was completed in 2000, and according to one of the owners, "Lorcan really wanted to compliment and pay tribute to the original Streamline architecture while also creating something modern that took advantage of the panoramic views." The pool and cabana were added in 2004. Monthly rent: $9,950.
