PriceChopper: Why Bother? Tiny Chop On Unbuilt Hollywood Home

New, 10 comments

This listing for a four-bedroom, four-and-a-half bath unbuilt house in the Hollywood Hills has been on the MLS for about four months. The listing notes the price "reflects estimated completed price." Designed by local architecture firm Escher GuneWardena, the listing tells us " this project is ready to go and qualifies for normal financing." The design for the mostly one-level home consists of two separate structures with a pool, spa and grassy courtyard. Originally listed at $1.337 million, the house has been reduced a mere $7,000 to $1.330 million. Why even bother? At least use a retail tactic and go for the always popular $1.299 million. Then it might seem like a deal.
