EaterTastings: Tracking Cacao Mexicatessen, Border Grill Launches Truck, La Grande Orange Open in SM, Goodbye, Bruni

The latest dish from Eater LA, Curbed's hedonistic eating and drinking blog...

EAGLE ROCK: Eater tracks the forthcoming Cacao Mexicatessen, aiming for a June opening. Eater explains the concept: "A 'mexicatessen' is just as it sounds: a concept combining the convenience of an Italian Deli with traditional fare from Mexico." In addition to mole and chile relleno plates, there will also be a store stocked with hard-to-find Mexican imports.

LOS ANGELES: It was only a matter of time before the taco truck trend came full circle, back to...tacos. After the, erm, runaway success of korean taco truck Kogi, the two hot tamales women, Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken, have launched their Border Grill Taco Truck. The truck will be a spinoff of both the Santa Monica flagship and downtown's Ciudad, with the majority of the menu focused on gourmet tacos for two bucks.

SANTA MONICA: Finally open in Santa Monica: Pasadena offshoot La Grande Orange. Amenities include a grab-and-go counter with snacks and coffee, an open kitchen, indoor and outdoor patio seating as well as a full bar.

EVERYWHERE: And Frank Bruni is...out. More.
