The nice folks at Nadel Architects passed along renderings of their mixed-use project proposed on a former landfill site in Carson. As the LA Times reported, developers are have said they are ready to "install a ground gas collection and treatment system that would provide a way for methane gas created by the waste in the landfill to be safely vented," an important step because of possible "explosion hazards," according to the paper. What's being considered: 1.2 million square feet of retail, 90,000 square feet of restaurants, 400 rental units and potential for up to 900 for sale housing units. Additionally there's a 150-room hotel and an entertainment district.
