The Eric Owen Moss-designed Gateway Arts Tower at Hayden Avenue and National Boulevard in Culver City has been going up slowly--the Architect's Newspaper covered this thing way back in the innocent days of 2006. But last we heard, the tower, which'll serve as a hybrid arts project/information tower, was about 75 percent finished. And there's a rumor that it could be done this summer. No one from Eric Owen Moss returned calls, but according to the web site, the tower will have a five circular steel rings: Art and public information will be distributed on the screens. Let's hope this doesn't get dragged into the sign debate. And godspeed, giant tower.
