The LA Times is reporting that the Los Angeles Planning Commission rejected that controversial Ponte Vista project, but allowed that another version be proposed. Via the paper: "Planners will have six months to try to forge a compromise between the staff recommendation of 775 to 885 units and the developer's latest proposal, for 1,395 units." Last month, the Times chronicled the power of neighborhood councils to stop San Pedro Ponte's Vista, a development that at one point was a proposed 2,300-unit project. Meanwhile, there's no immediate word whether that Daniel Libeskind project for downtown, also set to be discussed today, passed through the commission. [LA Times]
