EaterTastings: City Bakery Shuts, Americana Market Opens, AIA Restaurant Entries

New, 11 comments

BRENTWOOD: So goes City Bakery, which shut last week. Blame it on a bad location? According to Eater LA, the New York import didn't have luck in the space, but they will try to find another space somewhere else in the city.

GLENDALE: Perhaps you can buy a baguette with that PriceChopped condo? That European-style Farmer's Market that has the Montrose Farmer's Market quivering opens this weekend at Americana. From the press release: "Every Saturday from 10a.m. to 2p.m. more than 30 vendors will line Caruso Avenue stretching from Brand Blvd. to the park offering a bountiful array of locally grown and produced delicacies."

LOS ANGELES: Listen up, Madrid readers. Hoping to "broaden the scope of the Restaurant Design Awards (RDAs). The American Institute of Architect is now accepting international and national submissions for outstanding restaurant, café/bar, and lounge/nightclub projects this year, This year's jury consists of Jonathan Gold, Cedd Moses, starchitect Michael Palladino and graphic designer Lu Sandhaus. The call for entries is available on the AIA site."
