And now a look at the latest stories from Racked LA, our shopping-obsessed sister blog...
HOLLYWOOD: For reasons that are still slightly puzzling, for years the Gelson's grocery store on Franklin Avenue has operated as "Mayfair Market." Even though the stores are both operated by the same owner, the store was always actually a Gelson's, so this week the company finally made the switch.
SANTA MONICA: Terrible retail news to report from Montana Avenue in Santa Monica, where the store closings are coming fast and furious."Between June 2008 and now, over 30 businesses have said goodbye to the street (including the eight recent closings Racked LA mapped a few weeks ago.)."
LOS ANGELES: Speaking of closings, we may have so more chances at turning some big 'ol empty stores into places for paintball tournaments/cage wrestling./ . Now that Virgin has announced its closing all of its stores, the store at Hollywood & Highland Center is now more.
