WILSHIRE BLVD: Here's a strange story for you. Last night, we were driving on Wilshire Blvd at about 8pm when a huge flashing image of a cartoon-like figure appeared on the side of 6360 Wilshire Blvd. It looked like some sort of test or demonstration. Hmmm. Pulling over, we walked to the parking lot where a group of people were gathered around a projector, which was shooting images along the side of the building. We immediately recognized Mike McNeilly, the 1969 Lady Liberty guy, among the group, but we couldn't definitely confirm it was McNeilly (but unless he has a twin, it was him) because everyone was packing up and leaving. We spoke with one young guy, who said he ran the company--this is a company that projects ads at events, like corporate logos inside clubs, he told us. McNeilly didn't return our calls today, but one of his business partners told us that Mike does all sorts of different work. But why were you working with another company, one that projects images, Mike? And are we becoming paranoid? Absolutely. (Cell phone picture of blank wall taken after everyone left) [Curbed Staff]
