Welcome to this version of "New To Market," our look at a listing with a reader vote. Consider this an unscientific way to take the buying pulse of a wary public. Feedback and nominees to the tipline, please.
This house first appeared on Curbed in December 2008, after it was featured as a Los Angeles Times Home of the Week. The two-bedroom, two bath house was designed by the late landscape designer and painter Benji Okubo. According to the listing, "many of Benji's rock scapes are still in their original settings" and the kitchen includes "views of 10ft waterfalls, Aga stove, a raised double sized fridge and freezer and a petrified borealis granite peninsula that reaches out into the great room." There is also an outdoor office and artist studio. The current owners claim they spent $150,000 in "re-creating Zen-inspired retreat." A 1,412-square foot home, it was originally listed at $895,000. Today's asking price: $795,400 or $563 per square foot. Listing is here and here.
