A reader passed along this cool mid-century modern home now on the market, introducing us to the work of Eugene Kinn Choy, one of the first Chinese-American architects working in Los Angeles. Choy is also responsible for the Cathay Bank building in Chinatown, built in 1962. Built in 1953 for another Chinese-American architect in Los Feliz, The Chew House features four bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths with original tiles, a saltwater pool, and the 700 square foot pool house with a wet bar. We're also digging the built-ins, the vintage kitchen and the walls of glass. The 3,183 square foot property was last sold in June 2006 for $1.655 million. Today's listing price: $1.85 million or $581 per square foot.
