How this thing is going to navigate the 10 freeway during rush hour and whether there'll be multiple airspaces hasn't exactly been hammered out, but there's a lot of excitement about Terrafugia's Transition, a flying car that just finished its maiden run. The test run was back on March 5th in upstate New York, but video of the event was just released yesterday. How it works: The Transition is sort of like a beetle--it folds up its wings to transform from a plane to a car, a process that takes less than 30 seconds, according to Information Week. While not yet available, the company is taking orders on the cars, which are expected to cost $194,000.
