More Details About Silver Lake/Echo Park Attacks

Following that story about the recent attacks on men in Silver Lake and Echo Park, Eastsider LA talks with Detective Lou Vargas, who is leading the investigation. Vargas tells Eastsider LA that it's a possibility that two different gangs could be involved. "[Vargas] said that the six Echo Park attacks, which took place from late December through January, appear to be committed by a different group than the more recent attacks against four men in Silver Lake near Rowena." However, none of the victims--who have been men of all different races and ages--have been able to identify their attackers from looking at photos of suspected gang members. Vargas also says the victims aren't getting a good look at the attackers given that the crimes are happening on dark streets. [Eastsider LA]
