That sad-looking empty pool near the 101 Freeway in Echo Park is being considered for a multitude of uses, including a skateboard park, reports Eastsider LA. Via the blog: "What's more scary? The thought of your kid swimming in a pool separated from the 101 Freeway by only a rusty chain link fence or of your child's skateboard flying into the windshield of a northbound truck?" If they go with a skateboard park, perhaps it's advisable to swath the area with that netting used at golf driving ranges. [Eastsider LA]
