Lawyers/developers Mark Geragos and Brian Kabateck, who own Engine Co. No. 28 building on Figueroa, and the Fine Arts Building at 811 W. 7th St. (pictured) are now talking hotels, reports the Eastside Living magazine. "Downtown has everything – except, says Kabateck, “the kind of great boutique hotels that New York City has. Fixated on the idea, both think the market is ripe for an upscale boutique hotel, especially if it’s housed in their next, beautifully preserved historic building." Additionally, the pair tell Eastside Living that the economic crunch "hasn’t affected their plans, and their tenancy rate for the two buildings has stayed above 90 percent. More importantly, their credit line remains unaffected." Well, good for you, boys. [Eastside Living]
