Given El Segundo's growing office vacancy rate, Texas-based developer Trammell Crow Co. wants to do a switcharoo on its planned six-story office building at 888 N. Sepulveda Blvd, and instead put up a nine-story, 179-room hotel with a long-term parking facility geared towards airport travelers. Tomorrow the city council will weigh in on the idea, reports the Daily Breeze. "El Segundo city leaders have generally discouraged local businesses from capitalizing on ample parking and proximity to Los Angeles International Airport, but Tuesday's presentation will test the City Council's current attitude, [Kimberly Christensen, an El Segundo planning manager] said." Overall, the city seems rather enthusiastic about the project." [Daily Breeze]
