Allegations of racism are swirling around landlord/Clippers owner Donald Sterling. Via the LA Times: "NBA Hall of Famer and former longtime Clippers executive Elgin Baylor alleges in a civil lawsuit filed Wednesday in Los Angeles that team owner Donald Sterling has embraced a "vision of a Southern plantation-type structure" for his NBA franchise, accusing him of decades-long racist behavior." This news follows that 2005 settlement in which Sterling was ordered to pay $5 million for discriminating against black and Latino tenants in his Koreatown apartments. There was some chatter that Sterling wanted Asian tenants in his building, a rumor apparently confirmed by those newspaper ads for his buildings that read: "DONALD T. STERLING HAS CHECK FOR YOU." Meanwhile, whatever happened to Sterling's great downtown homeless shelter? [LA Times]
