Eastern Columbia Residents Still Pushing for that Park

New, 17 comments

The Downtown News reports that community members are still trying to get that park built next to the Eastern Columbia building. There's a meeting on Wednesday night to get input on designs for a 35,000 square-foot park at Hill and Ninth. The group, which launched a web site earlier this year, complete with a rendering of the proposed green space, are trying to raise money themselves to buy the property and take their designs to state officials in an "effort to obtain up to $5 million in government funds for the project." CBRE executive vice president Mark Tarczynski, who represents the land for KOR, tells us the site is still listed for $8 million. But Tarczynski said believes that KOR would take $6.5 million for the plot.
