The New York Times is reporting that following that attempted terrorism attack aboard a Detroit airplane, there's renewed talk of using super-advanced x-ray airport screening that effectively makes it possible to see through a traveler's clothes. Such technology--opposed by groups like the ACLU--would have caught the explosives tucked in the Nigerian man's underwear. But keep in mind that "body imaging technology has its limits — the machines cannot, for example, detect objects stowed in bodily orifices or concealed within the folds of an obese person’s flesh."
