What a headache: The LA Times reports that members of the Community Redevelopment Agency are bickering over a plan to give a real estate company two free buildings in South LA (the company has agreed to renovate the buildings), part of a plan to lure apparel company D&J Sportswear, and its garment-related jobs, to the area. At issue is whether enough jobs are being created via the proposal (the plan would bring 40 jobs over 4 years), while other members of the board are saying that "green jobs," not factory jobs, should be created. CRA purchased the buildings in 2007 for $2.7 million. [LA Times]
