Last night, more than 40 Cathedral City residents discussed a 60 foot-high cross proposed for their city, reports KESQ.com. The cross would actually be a T-Mobile cell phone tower above the Community Presbyterian Church in Cathedral City (near Palm Springs). According to KESQ, residents don't mind the Christian symbol, they're offended by the threat to home values. T-Mobile has a lot of hoops still to jump through, including getting a conditional use permit, obtaining clearance from the city's architectural commission, and then getting a green-light from the planning department.
