See You at Pete's

Over the last few weeks, the Downtown News has been counting down the most important downtown projects of the decade, and today the paper announces the winner: Developer Tom Gilmore's transformation of the Bank District. "The corner of Fourth and Main streets has since become the epicenter of street life in the district, as businesses including Pete’s Café, Metropolis Books, Banquette, the OBD Market and Old Bank DVD have followed." There's also a run-down of the biggest "problem projects," and not surprisingly, a certain funicular makes the list. [Downtown News]
