Silver Lake Library Reviewed

New, 5 comments

This is the first review that we've seen: The Architects Newspaper takes a look at the new $12 million, M2A Architecture-designed Silver Lake Library, noting the "library has given the neighborhood an unmistakable, but not over-the-top, symbol to be proud of, encouraging more people to explore an impressive library collection while prompting the city to be more ambitious in its architecture." The paper also notes the the 1998 bond measure that paid for this library and dozens others is a success story "because it's not the usual mess-up." Ouch. [Architects Newspaper]
