Another quality of life query coming from a reader who doesn't appreciate the cacophony of leafblowers early in the AM, and more evidence that these things are in fact the devil's flute: "My understanding of the leaf blower law in the city of LA is that they are illegal within 500 feet of a residence, yet they are rampant in my neighborhood as early as 7am. Are you aware of any recent progress (or lack of) toward the law being enforced? I'm sure the police are way too busy to deal with quality of life issues, so it comes down to the citizens. My neighborhood (Koreatown) is full of apartment buildings and citizens who don't seem to be interested in these issues."
