Biking Blog on Thompson Conviction

New, 10 comments

Bicycling.com weighs in on this week's conviction of Brentwood doctor Christopher Thompson for assault with a deadly weapon. "Although cyclists were generally relieved that Thompson had been convicted, I believe that this case is not really a victory for anyone." Cycling lawyer Bob Mionske doesn't think this case will serve as a precedent in other vehicular vs. bike cases because Mionske feels most other plaintiffs won't have a paper trail (the smoking gun was that other cyclists came forward with stories of being forced off the road by the doctor). Oh, and he's certain Thompson will appeal. [Bicycling.com]
