LACMA's Newest Wilshire Building is Toast

That Wilshire Boulevard building across from LACMA scheduled be destroyed has indeed been destroyed, reports the LACMA Unframed Blog. The smaller photo shows the "After" view (you're looking at the site from the point of view of Chris Burden's lights). Last we heard, the museum intended to use the site as a surface parking lot for the next couple of years. More via Unframed: "Long term plans for the museum’s use of 6006 have not been established; office, gallery, housing, hotel and other museum related mixed use retail options are being considered." Three words, LACMA: Christmas tree lot. Merry, merry.
