Last week, Bloomberg reported that the Jeffrey Koons-designed belching train proposed for LACMA is on hold until funding comes along to pay for the actual thing. While the $25 million train probably always was dependent on outside funding, Bloomberg reports the project "could be canceled altogether if the museum doesn’t come up with necessary funding." Barbara Pflaumer, LACMA's press rep tells the newswire: "We wouldn’t do it unless someone funds it; someone has to write us a check “This is a very tough economy. Everyone has revised timetables.” [Bloomberg]
