Downtown's Angels Flight Clears Latest Hurdle

New, 11 comments

Bunker Hill's long-delayed-in-reopening little funicular took another step forward following last Friday's meeting with the California Public Utilities Commission regarding safety procedures. Angels Flight Railway president John Welborne writes in an email: "Along with about sixty other items on the Consent Agenda, the two Resolutions approving AFR safety and security plan documents were approved formally by the Commission (in an action that took about 15 seconds)." The Angels Flight Railway documents were submitted last spring, and the safety documentation is required of all rail transit agencies in California. Welborne said to "stay tuned" regarding more news.
