Boxy Hillside Home With a View

New, 8 comments

Welcome to this version of "New To Market," our look at a listing with a reader vote. Consider this an unscientific way to take the buying pulse of a wary public. Feedback and nominees to the tipline, please.

This three-bedroom, two-bath house is just down the street from Richard Neutra's Kun Houses and yet it's worlds away. But we will give it credit for having some fantastic views. The listing also notes the home's hardwood floors, French doors, balcony and decks and that it's "great for dogs." What it doesn't mention is that the gardens are on a pronounced slope, so that outdoor space for dogs is somewhat limited. The listing also claims it's a "super value, hurry!" but we'll let you be the judge of that. The house was last sold in 2001 for $599,000 and today's asking price is $895,000 or $683 per square foot. Comps in the neighborhood are closer to $472 per square foot, according to Redfin. Listing is here.
