John Lautner's Elrod House in Palms Springs Hits Market

[Clockwise from top left: Lautner, Kaptur, Johnson, Johnson]

John Lautner's Palm Springs Elrod House debuted on the MLS yesterday with the declaration that it is "Literally one of THE most architecturally significant homes in all the world." Also making an entrance? Adjacent properties The Boat House, designed by Michael P. Johnson for a racecar driver, and the Hugh M. Kaptur house that Steve McQueen once owned. These three are owned by the same person and they've teamed up before--together they formed the Southridge Club, an invitation only club that cost $100,000 per year to join and allowed members ten nights in the houses (simultaneously, for some reason). Southridge Club operator Wolf Worster confirmed to Curbed that the club has shut down.

You probably need more time to decide which gin goes best with this house, but here are the details for when you're ready: Elrod has five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms, and that circular living room with the domed ceiling and retractable glass walls. It's listed at $13.89 million. The Boat House has four bedrooms and five bathrooms and is listed at $2.89 million. And the Kaptur house has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and the residue of eternal cool left behind by McQueen. It's listed at $3.47 million.
