Data that has everyone shaken up because it suggests the housing recovery is farther off than originally thought, new home construction dropped to a six-month low in October, reports the New York Times."The data on home construction showed a decline in the rate of single- and multiple-family homebuilding, contributing to an overall decrease of 10.6 percent in housing starts from September." And the Times blog reports those figures look healthy in comparison to the number of apartment buildings (not) being built. [NY Times]
