WEST LA: Following a look at that big dirt lot at Santa Monica and Overland that'll eventually house a three-story retail and office complex, here's a look at the rendering. If you look closely at the rendering, one of the stores in the complex says: "Bookstore" on the facade. They must have run out of Jamba Juice letters. Nadel Architects is behind project, which is expected to open at the end of 2010 (or so we last heard). [Curbed Staff]
DOWNTOWN: In honor of its 30th anniversary, the Museum of Contemporary Art is free all next week. Recessionary fun, and perhaps you have some relatives visiting. "MOCA opens its doors and brings its acclaimed collection of postwar art to the community with complimentary admission during the opening week of Collection: MOCA’s First Thirty Years. Offer valid during regular museum hours, courtesy of Ovation TV. On Thursdays, admission is free from 5–8pm, courtesy of Wells Fargo." More here. [Curbed InBox]
