Following that long-running dispute over rents at El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument, officials finally started cutting padlocks and evicting tenants. Well, one tenant got the boot. Via the Downtown News: "With several sheriff’s deputies in tow, officials with El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument took possession of the Casa De Sousa premises Oct. 1, ending a long rent dispute with the tenants, whose family was evicted from the premises after more than 60 years." Casa De Sousa owed $13,000, according to the paper. [DN]
