Trying to make heads or tails of the latest post on the Bel-Air Association Blog—looks like there is a proposal to widen the bridge and to add two left-turn cross traffic lanes on westbound Sunset at the 405, so that drivers can merge onto the northbound freeway from Sunset. Right now, drivers must take Sepulveda to Moraga Drive to merge onto the freeway. "This proposal appears to be "step one" in an effort to widen and turn all of Sunset Blvd. into a major traffic artery," warns the blog. This proposal follows the recent aborted effort by Metro to widen Sunset in Brentwood. [Bel-Air Association Blog]
