The latest dish from Eater LA, Curbed's hedonistic eating and drinking blog...
WEST HOLLYWOOD: Bastide is the Phoenix of LA restaurants. Once again, it rises from the ashes, and this time, it's a bistro (pictured). The more casual restaurant (and apparently, Assouline bookstore) should be open for lunch next month.
SANTA MONICA: While the renovated Santa Monica Place mall near the Third Street Promenade won't be open until late 2010, Eater gets the scoop on future food options there. Not surprisingly, expect fast-casual dining such as Charlie Kabob, Chick n' Ribs, Pinches Tacos, Stefano's Pizza and two sushi options.
HOLLYWOOD: School is (almost) in session. The Mozza empire expands next week with the opening of Scuola Di Pizza. The first two cooking classes taught by co-owner Nancy Silverton and chef Matt Molina will be Italian Thanksgiving-themed. Eater reports classes cost about $150 per person and each class will be about 12 students.
