There's not a lot of information, but Metro's own in-house reporter Steve Hymon is reporting that Rick Thorpe, Metro’s chief capital management officer, resigned from his position at Metro. According to Hymon, Thorpe was in charge of all construction of rail projects, including the Gold Line (which has been the center of much debate over safety). What a stinger he leaves in his resignation letter: “Recent events have made it clear that I’m no longer effective in that role, and as such, I am tendering my resignation from those duties.” Thorpe will continue on as CEO of the Expo Line Construction Authority.
