We were a bit hasty and totally wrong yesterday in announcing the West Hollywood City Council's approval of a contract with an unnamed pop artist to create art for the city's new library. The item was actually pulled off the meeting's agenda. The Beverly Press speculates the removal had to do with the artist's recent legal troubles with the Associated Press, but says the council "has remained tight-lipped about why the item was pulled from the agenda," and quotes Andy Campbell, the city's cultural affairs administrator, "We pulled the item from the agenda for further review and consideration." Might this mean a new artist for the WeHo library? Judging by yesterday's comments, this news will cheer some and disappoint others.
