Back in July, Michael Baker at development company By Palisades said there'd been some delays related to financing and building department sign-offs on the Vine Street boutique hotel, but that the opening was "close." Today, at our request, he provides an update via email. Well, the update is a tad anti-climatic. "At this time there is no change in status." The hip out-of-towners will be disappointed to hear the news. Meanwhile, a recent San Francisco Business Times story profiled By Palisades founder Avi Brosh. From the tone of the piece, you'd think the downturn had never happened.
