LOS ANGELES: Someone is handing out money! Get in line. The National Trust for Historic Preservation has announced a grant program meant to target historic preservation across Los Angeles County. "Grants from the newly created Los Angeles County Preservation Fund will provide seed monies (typical award $5,000 to $10,000) to nonprofit organizations and government agencies for preservation, stewardship, and community revitalization involving historic resources." BEVERLY HILLS POST OFFICE: Via the Inbox: "What’s going on at the top of Angelo Drive in BHPO, above Rupert Murdoch’s house (1330 Angelo) and west of Davies Drive, between Angelo and Beverly Glen? There is a long road with a gate, and looking on Google Earth/MSN Live Search, it looks like somebody might be trying to put in some type of development there. Pretty steep terrain for more houses, but never say never these days. On the other hand, it could just be a bunch of fire trails – but it looks a bit too extensive for that. Any ideas?"
