LA-based architects Randall Stout just won a 2009 International Architecture Award for their design of the Taubman Museum of Art in Roanoke, Virginia, reports artinfo.com. The pointy, glassy structure was chosen from a pool of 97 international finalists, 13 of which were located in America. Closer to home, Randall Stout Architects designed the recently-completed, $6.4 million Dockweiler State Beach Youth Center at Imperial Highway and Vista del Mar near Playa del Rey (see image)—another sharp-edged edifice that actually opens next week with a ceremony on Wednesday.
